Help! Boiling to death!

Don’t suppose anyone has a combi boiler which uses this control panel?
Had a new boiler fitted couple of weeks ago, had no need to put heating on until tonight (freezing here!)
The fitter said just to press the right hand of the three arrow buttons to turn heating on, then press again to turn it off.
So I successfully turned it on, only when I press again to turn it off, it stops for a while and comes back on again.
And suggestions welcome, instructions are double Dutch!
(Hope the pic has attached)

what make is it?

Heyyeahyouwiththesadface · 01/07/2021 19:20

Does the + & - change the 20 degrees? Maybe if you minus it down to low enough it should stop the heat kicking in while you figure out how to turn it off.

Fightingfirewithfire · 01/07/2021 19:29

Don't suppose you have managed to put it on timer for it to keep the house at a certain temp between times?
You could try as a PP has said knocking the temp down , but if it's anything like my thermostat the override only lasts 2 hours and then it kicks back to whatever the thermostat setting is for that hour of day.

We need more info on make of control panel

purple sequins - this is the boiler

Heyyeahyouwiththe sad face - thanks, I’ll try that, although I’ve managed to switch the boiler off completely now (at the boiler itself, not from control panel) until I can ring someone tomorrow- will have to turn it back on when I want hot water though 😆

can you do a 'hard restart' remove the batteries and put them back in?
ours the reverts to manual input

weekend2021 · 01/07/2021 19:36

Fightingfirewithfire - I did nothing with the timer, not touched the control since boiler was fitted.
I’m not at all technically minded - rare times like this I need a man in my life 😂

alternatively buy a new thermostat with easier instructions (and less ugly) and connect it to the boiler

Heyyeahyouwiththesadface · 01/07/2021 19:39

You can turn the heating off at the boiler but leave it just doing the hot water rather than off altogether.

Jubilate · 01/07/2021 19:40

We have a similar but not identical control panel. Ours is automatically set to a thermostat, so when it drops below 20 it will come back on again. I would try changing the degrees right down.

AlwaysNeedCoffee · 01/07/2021 19:41

The two manual dials look like they control temperature. Turn the radiator one anti-clockwise?

Weedsnseeds1 · 01/07/2021 19:43

The grey flap probably lifts up and there will be buttons to set the timer. You can usually choose from setting each day separately, same timings all week, or weekday plus different settings for weekends.

AlwaysNeedCoffee · 01/07/2021 19:45

This looks like a similar model. Might be of use! Sorry if it's not clicky.

weekend2021 · 01/07/2021 20:00

Many thanks for all suggestions - rather than complicate things further, I’m leaving it switched off all night and will contact the fitter tomorrow.
Central heating problems in July eh, who would have thought? 😆

Turn the dial on the far right s it's only on the tap icon. This means you only have hot water and the heating will be off

Thanks again everyone - just waiting for a call back from the fitter!
