Lining paper hairline gaps!

Trying to work out what to do about the tiniest of gaps between two sheets of lining paper. There's barely a gap but there is one and I can see it!

Could I risk finely sanding it? Or is a fine filler and then sandpaper an option??

I can't get it repapered or plastered so need ideas for fixes please.

Is this before you paint over it?

I have used flexible filler in the past and it worked well. Used a putty knife.

I would leave it, once everything is back in place you won't notice it.

It's old lining paper and I'm about to repaint. In my experience repainting doesn't stop the gaps showing so maybe I'll try the flexible filler route, thanks.

Lining paper is supposed to be laid with a small gap that should be filled and sanded so it disappears when painted.

Thanks @viperatthegatesofdawn

I didn't know that! Will try filling and sanding in that case.

Really @ViperAtTheGatesOfDawn? Didn’t know that either! Why is that?

@FerretFumbler

Really *@ViperAtTheGatesOfDawn*? Didn’t know that either! Why is that?
The idea is that it should look seamless, which just abutting strips won't, so you create a teeny gap that can take filler.

Got it! Well I never, thanks! Smile
