Is Limavady a good place to live? Due to work, I will certainly relocate to Limavady next year.? Does any of you live there? Any suggestion regarding school, activity? Thanks

Hi op,
Don't know much about limavady, but it is near to a fantastic beach- Benone. Also you're quite close to Derry, a really vibrant city and on the other side portstewart, which has some beautiful seaside properties.

Hi Limavady is a nice town, depends what part you are considering buying in. There are a number of Primary schools, Roe Valley is an integrated PS. Central is a Protestant PS and there is Termincanice PS Catholic. There is 1 or 2 others I think as well. Any of the above are good schools. Secondary schools it has 3. St Mary's and Limavady HS, which are secondary high schools. Both are OK schools but there are better schools in Coleraine or Derry, Lderry and there are buses your child can travel easily enough on. Limavady Grammer is the only Grammer school and again is a fine school, can be a bit snobbish however and again you would get better schools in Lderry.
As for the town itself, there it is quite a small town with a lot in it and very easy commute to and from Lderry, Coleraine or further afield.
One thing I would say if you commute to Derry the road at Ballykelly always bottlenecks around peak traffic time

P. S I went to school in Limavady and my family still lives there. It has a beautiful country park right beside the town and a golf club, swimming pool, Tescos( decent sized), Lidl, home bargains and a number of family friendly pubs. It really is lovely.
House prices are very reasonable.

It's Northern Ireland, not North of Ireland. (eg Iceland is North of Ireland)

I have done jobs there and found it to be quite nice. I would certainly go back for more work if it were available.

Why be like that? You clearly knew what she meant and for those not from NI it means the same thing. As someone from NI I certainly didn't take offence. Nor do I take offence at someone referring to the Republic of Ireland as the Free state, or down amount or Southern Ireland.

Thank for the advice. Sorry if I offend some but saying North of Ireland. I have the choice to relocate in Ireland for work either Limavady (Northern Ireland) or Waterford (Republic of Ireland). Thinking of Limavady as it will be easier for the kids to see their dad.
