Hardwood Flooring in bedrooms?

Hi all - been lurking forever and finally have a question... We are in the process of buying a house. We definitely plan on replacing the living room carpet with hardwood, and toying with doing the same with the stairs and the upstairs rooms as well as it's easier to do it before we move in.

We prefer wood floors for aesthetic and maintenance reasons, but I know that's not a universal opinion. This isn't going to be our forever home (prob more like a 5 year plan). From a resale perspective, is this a bad idea?

Would you be put off by hardwood instead of carpets in the bedrooms? Am I obsessing about this needlessly? Note that the existing carpets are less than a year old, so doing nothing is an option.

Thanks!

We have wood floors all through. We always have had this. I have asthma and it disappeared when we got rid of carpets.

Also, if you put insulation in, under the wood, your floors will never be cold, even in Winter

Hardwood flooring upstairs wound be a bonus for me. Just lay down some Persian rugs and done!

I can’t stand fitted carpet. Years of accumulation of dust and dead skin cells that cannot possibly be vacuumed. Ugh

I don't understand the utter horror some over-fastidious people have of carpets - asthma sufferers excepted.

Our carpets get vacuumed and cleaned regularly. We don't have small children or pets and don't wear shoes in the house.

We live somewhere that is cold and damp most of the year, and hard floors in bedrooms are cold and noisy.
