I love IKEA so much for essentials but we don't want a house full of IKEA. FTB so no idea where to start! Can you share your quirky little homeware shops please? We love Oliver Bonas but not the price tag that comes with some of.their products 😂 everyone on here seems to have lovely houses! Living room/dining room will be blue/green if that helps!

What are you looking for? I've often picked up bargains at tesco, asda, argos, charity shops etc.

Mainly looking for accessories so wall accessories, shelves, paintings, rugs, anything like that but also dining table and chairs as well as bar stools and coffee tables! We have sofas and a TV but that's literally it 😂

Dunelm, the range, b&m, home bargains, h&m home and next are my go to for home bits. Oh and Sainsbury’s with their habitat section.

MooshWoosh · 27/06/2021 22:48

It might not be your thing but try local auctions for furniture - I've picked up some amazing bits - midcentury furniture, mirrors, lamps, original art work, antique rugs - all ridiculously well priced. It'll also be a bit more unique and less mass produced if you're looking to move away from the Ikea look.

For good online shops, how about HM home, Zara home, la redoute?

Also SHEIN home do some really cheap wall hangings and decor bits.

Maybe Facebook if you're on there? I recently gave garden furniture and accessories to a mum who put a post up that she was looking for some. Also, I found my new favourite curtains and a keyboard for my daughter recently on Facebook marketplace.

Charity and secondhand shops can be good for furniture, paintings, and things like that if you have good ones nearby.

I agree Dunelm, B&M and them can be great, also Wilkos.

I like Dunelm & Home Bargains as well as IKEA. Whilst I really -like- love IKEA, the pieces esp furniture are quite recognisable so it’s good to mix it u

My best tip is to try loads of different places for an individual look - so eBay, charity shops and TK Maxx also on the list

hernamewasrio · 27/06/2021 23:08

HomeSense and TK Maxx

Also Wayfair has astonishing amount of choice : have recently bought lights & headboards, could not find suitable elsewhere

Nuggetnugget · 27/06/2021 23:10

I like h&m home
The Range is really reasonable and great
Argos (habitat lights and rugs)
Sostrene Greene
Local shops (selling voyage maison etc)
Home Bargains (nice cake tins and hugs)

I love homewares Grin

We like salvage yards too for quirky items

I used to love going to Maison du Monde in France. I think you can buy online here in the uk now.

goingtotown · 28/06/2021 00:12

M&S Zara Sainsbury’s John Lewis Homesense Next.

minipie · 28/06/2021 00:31

Zara home
H&M home
La Redoute

Etsy - especially for reclaimed or things you might want customised eg cushions, lampshades, even furniture you need a particular size or colour

For lights- try lampsandlights, houseof

Made.com
Swoon editions (but have had shocking delivery/quality experience)

If you have Nextdoor or other local app/forum or Fb group then look there

Thanks so much everyone! There's quite a collection for us to look through. We aren't buying anything until we've exchanged but that should hopefully be very soon!
