Are they worth it? Is it proper boiling water, to make a good cup of tea? Thanks.

Thanks all. Can anyone tell me about running costs? Thanks.

Ours has been transformational. Apart from the instant boiling water we are in a house with a hot water tank on the 2nd floor and kitchen on the ground floor so running the hot tap wasted gallons of hot water. Our Quooker also feeds the hot water tap (at normal hot water temperature of course). I would never be without one again.

No idea how much it costs to run, we saved money with ours.

PS if you are in Surrey you;re welcome to pop round for a cuppa!

We are moving to a house with one. I love my cups of tea so slightly excited but have been anxious over safety as I have 2 small children so the fact it is a 2 step process has eased my mind. Thanks people!

@NiceTwin

I shall buck the trend to say I don't like mine. On/off is on the left hand side of the tap. My left handed daughter scolded herself with it. She was tired and distracted, it made a mess of her hand. If I had my time again, I would save my money.
This has just reminded me that I know someone whose teenage son scalded himself quite badly on one of these taps. They got rid of it.

I’ve rented a house where there was a Quooker, and while we never had any particular problems with it, it’s never occurred to me to consider installing one when we build a new kitchen next year.

To me they’re a slightly baffling enthusiasm for the kind of people who think that having a kettle on your work surface constitutes clutter.

Not sure which one they have, but a friend has one and I find the coffee is fine but tea has a ‘scum’ or slight foam on, like you’d get if the kettle wasn’t quite boiled. I don’t drink tea there now!

That is exactly my experience with the tea made at SIL’s with her Qooker. There’s a slightly odd taste to it too.

I'm amazed at how many people have taps that reprimand them.
