Bifold colour inside

For those of you who have bifolds, have you gone for the same colour on the inside as you have on the outside? The Husband wants anthracite, but I'm not sure that will go with my country cottage interior of original stone walls, pale grey cabinetry and limestone flooring.... would white on the inside look odd? Confused

We went for anthracite inside and out. I was tempted to white outside as all the other windows are white, but didn't in the end because 1) the bifolds are strikingly different to the other windows anyway, 2) you'd be able to see both colours at the same time when they were open and I think that would look strange/messy and 3) it made it more expensive.

I wouldn't worry about the colour looking wrong for the style of the house - bifolds themselves don't exactly scream 'country cottage'. I think you're better to go modern and embrace the contrast.

Thanks. I guess I'm mostly worried that the anthracite inside will be too much of a statement and limit decor options

I see what you mean about it looking messy when it's all folded up though... and extra cost is definitely something to take in to account

I have anthracite outside and white inside , I don't really think about what they look like folded up. I didn't think my living room would look quite right with the anthracite and I am happy with them. If we had a bright , large more modern space I would probably have made a different decision.

Ah, I see. Well, anthracite inside was an easier choice for us, as the darker colour kind of disappears into the light and colour of the garden, whereas the white would stand out much more. We wanted a more seamless feel with the garden so it felt like a better choice.

I'm not sure bi fold doors would work with a country cottage interior whatever colour they are, as i see them as really contemporary. Might just be me though!

I guess you could say we are going for "modern country". A slimline Shaker kitchen but with induction hob and white quartz counters. Quite sleek and minimal, but with a nod to tradition with an exposed stone wall and tumbled limestone flooring. I've seen it work on many an IG/houzz/pinterest account, and I do like the mix of the two if done sympathetically. I guess I'm just stressing that maybe the anthracite will just make it all veer too much towards the modern in "modern country"? Confused

Anyway, the husband has compromised with me... I get to have cup handles (which he hates) if he can have the anthracite doors. So I guess I'll just have to find a way to make it work!
