Colour for a northish facing kitchen with dove grey units

Unsure what to paint the kitchen and dining area. It’s not a dark room exactly but it only gets direct sunlight very early in the day (thanks to my toddler I now know this).

Kitchen going in is a dove grey shaker with a marble effect type laminate, flat white metro tiles and dark grey handles and fixtures. Very standard these days!

But what colour for the walls?! It needs something with a bit of warmth in it I think? Floor is a neutral stone effect vintyl.

I like washed out orange and gold shades with grey but even a pale champagne colour with a greenish tinge might work. Just depends on the size of the space.

Is it a big kitchen with a lot of wall? I would go for a warm but darkish blue personally, I think darker rooms can take a strong colour. Otherwise some sort of white that doesn't have any blue tones in - have a look at Farrow and Ball neutrals for inspiration.

Thanks both, we went for a dark green in the bedroom above actually and it wears the dark colour well.

It’s medium sized I’d say - typical 3 bed semi with knock through kitchen/diner type.

We're doing grey/blue units with wood/stone and then a deep pink on the walls. Really pulls it together - surprisingly. The designer suggested it - I'd never have thought of it. Not much wall so not overpowering. (One side is all glass doors, another is all units so really not too much)

Purbeck stone gets my vote

This article might be useful.

I like the Chartreuse Green.

Great article @waltzingparrot

@blobblob love the idea of pink.

Do you all think FB Dimity would work? Has a nice pinky undertone I think.

Love Dimity - it might work. Not sure how pastel it is. As always it depends on the light and size.

I wanted something to lead off along a side return wall/ corridor so a dark colour worked in this situation.

Had a pink bedroom once and a pink living room - long time ago - both were of their time but warm and nice.

We’ve got sulking room pink with grey/blue cupboards and it’s lovely.
