Connecting utilities on a short term basis

Hi, I've recently sold my house but haven't found anywhere to buy yet. Due to bereavement there is a possible option to move into an empty family property for a couple of months but all utilities are disconnected. Is it possible to have gas, electric, water etc connected for just a month or so? Also what about council tax? (Relative was exempt as they had dementia) Thanks for any advice

I have had a rental that I moved into for a short period before my house purchase completed. I signed up for gas/electricity/council tax and I could cancel those without a problem after a couple of months. I used Octopus Energy after I researched the best ones on Which, it was very easy to do everything online and their customer service is excellent. If it is for a short period, worth considering them for an easy life.

Do you mean actually physically disconnected (as in meters removed etc) or contracts ended/accounts closed? Either way are doable but if properly disconnected may take a few weeks to reconnect. Council tax wouldn't be an issue for a short time.

Thank you. As far as I know all meters are still there so hopefully it'll be more straight forward than I feared
