Bay window- shutters or blinds

I live in a Victorian house with a large west facing bay window. Been in 6 months.

It's impossible to sit in there in the lighter evenings without shutting the curtains as the sun is so bright.

I wanted shutters but the cost is coming in at c£1k. Venetian blinds would be about £300.

I think blinds be more practical because they're more variable than shutters as in can pull half way down when shutters come across.

Does anyone have this evening sun problem and how did you solve it?

They are lovely!
My place is very dusty, so that as well as the cost would rule out shutters for me.

Top down bottom up I totally agree @LemonSwan. Definitely the best option.

Shutters, they actually let in loads of light and look stylish. There is no way I’d go back to blinds

White thick slat blinds with the ribbon. 100%. Shutters cut out too much light on bay with no other windows in room. In our old house we got a mix of John Lewis and dunelm. The John Lewis were better quality & not much more, they were easier to raise and lower. Couldn't tell the difference between real wood or the faux kind but went for wood.

I've just fitted blinds inside the recess. Cost £100 quid each. Really happy and there is loads more room.
I went for white as I have too much brown furniture.

@SwimmingOnEggshells
Life changing :)

I love that I can walk round my house in my knickers and if the neighbours go by I can just wave and they would be none the wiser lol
