Does country living mean bad WIFI?

We live on the edge of a large village and WIFI isn't great, but are thinking of moving somewhere more rural (think cottage on a working farm).

Does going that rural mean bad WIFI? Will my teenagers hate me?

It can vary massively even within a village - we live on one end of the village and have a very good internet connection, but the other end of the (small) village doesn't. I'd speak to the owners or neighbours of at at all possible.

Thanks everyone and sorry I couldn't respond earlier (difficult day at work). You're right, I am getting confused between broadband and WiFi. Good to know that some rural folk can still get good internet though and I'll check k out the postcode thing so thanks for that.

I do understand what some of you are saying about teenagers needing lifts etc but it's actually because of them we're looking at rural - my daughter has ASD and people/noise makes her anxious. I think I'm going to just have to accept my role as "taxi"!

My son has ASD as well and he would love to live on a farm especially if he could help with some of the animals. My NT one is much more sociable and would want to get to friends / activities easily though if you are willing to be a taxi that should be OK if you can get wifi and phone to work. Though we settled on a larger village where you could walk to things and DS could keep some animals and that works well.

I live in a tiny hamlet in a rural location and got fibre - this was not the "usual" services but a company called Box Broadband. They canvass the area and find out how many likely to sign up and if enough take up lay the cables. It is amazing for us

It does round us, I'm afraid.
But boostery things do make a difference.

I'm very rural and have superfast BT broadband. There are often several of us on the wifi and it is fine.
