There was a brilliant old thread with ideas about how to create a devol type kitchen on a budget. Would anyone like to discuss this again with current ideas/suppliers??

How much is a deVol kitchen then?

Here is how mine turned out a year after being fitted. Pretty pleased with it on the whole - Its good quality but not top luxury like dove tail joints but there is no knots showing through the wood. My only big niggle is it is not height adjustable from the bottom but solid units that had to scribed and my fitter wasnt the best. I am sure a top quality carpenter would do a fab job. All in I think it cost around 7k with the quartz worktops, all the appliances, Perrin and Rowe taps and sink.

We went for a Harvey Jones in the end, which I'm really happy with. Price wise for whoever was asking, it's hard to say because I had a wall knocked down and french doors fitted so the whole project ended up being £90k. I think the HJ bill was about £55k in the end. I did get a Devol brass hanging rail and hooks which was £275k, for hanging mugs on.

Ah thanks it worked out pretty well int he end but house renos are hard work especially as I did the entire house in one go. £275k for a rail? I mean I knew they were pricey but not that much 😉I bet your HJ is amazing I love their style.
