‘Crittal style’ internal door recoommendations

Our hallway is very dark (typical london terrace) so thinking about ‘borrowing’ some light from the living room by installing a Crittal type door. Think an off the shelf door might not fit as our door size is 200cm x 79cm.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Also unsure about whether to only have a door made or whether to take the glass up to the ceiling, albeit I can imagine that could be very expensive Hmm

Any other internal glass/window solutions would also be gratefully appreciated!

No idea but I would like to know too! Doors with glazing are so expensive!

not sure if any of these would be the right size? www.directdoors.com/collections/industrial-style-sliding-doors

Im looking for external crittal style if anyone has any ideas?

I saw an account on Instagram (unhelpfully I can't remember the name) that got bespoke sized shower doors and the company glazed them with the appropriate glass (think it had to be thicker for fire safety regs or something) and it was much cheaper than bespoke doors? Could have been Drench?

@bravotango

I think you might be thinking of houselust? She's got Drench shower doors coming off the kitchen, and they look amazing!

LBOCS2 · 17/05/2021 13:13

I was about to say the same thing about the Drench doors. They look fab!

wonkylegs · 17/05/2021 13:26

You need to check that you can have glazed doors of the hall is where your stairs terminate and still meet building regs.
If you just have 2 floors it should be fine as long as you have windows you can escape through however if you have a loft conversion you can't without extra provisions which can make it very expensive (fire glass and doorsets or house sprinkler systems).

bravotango · 17/05/2021 13:28

@WittyUser yes that's the one! They are amazing aren't they Grin

How much are those drench doors? Do I just take from having no visible prices on their website they are ££££+?

LBOCS2 · 17/05/2021 20:35

Apparently not. The instagrammer who used them found that they were less than half the price of all the traditional crittal door manufacturers. I think it's quite a new line for them.

Thanks everyone - i willl look into the drench doors and fire safety regs. Its a ground floor garden flat so no stairs but still the glass door willl be next to the main access point (front door)
