Potential Woodworm in old arm chair

We have been given an Edwardian chair which has just a few potentially woodworm holes in it. They look like they are really old and not active, but we obviously need to be sure. I have some stuff to treat it, but much of the wood is under upholstery.
I don’t want to spend money on it to get it treated professionally, so is it enough to just paint on the treatment on the wood I can see? Any advice gladly received Smile

Just paint the wood you can see. If you have a centrally heated house woodworm are unlikely to survive well. The holes are actually the exit holes. You can bung them up with wax crayons then you will see if there are any new ones.
I wouldn’t worry woodworm is rarely that serious it’s deathwatch beetle that do the real damage
