Lino flooring in laundry room?

We’re having a new laundry room put in on the first floor (previously on G/F).

I like Lino flooring because I don’t want any grout, or anything trapping dirt around where we clean clothes.

Do you have Lino flooring in your laundry room? Does it work for you?

Thank you 🙏

I don't have it in a laundry room but do have it in the kitchen and bathroom.
I like it as it is easy to keep clean, easy to wipe up accidental spillages etc.
The only thing to be mindful of is that it can tear if you drag heavy weights across it.
I hold my breath when moving out the free standing fridge to clean behind it but so far, no problems.

It wears easily, and eventually cracks with impact / or moving appliances as Wingedharpy says.

We had it in our old utility room, because we didn’t see the point in spending much money on the room where the washing machine and hot water tank hung out. However, the utility was also where the cats slept, and they came in and out through a cat flat in the window. Being huge hulking Bengals, every time they came in, they jumped from the window ledge to the same part of the floor, and within a few months that part of the lino was cracked and worn. And then when we had to move the chest freezer to find the dead rabbit they’d stashed behind it, a big strip of lino tore completely off.

I mean honestly, first world problems, it’s not exactly the end of the world if the room where you do your laundry has a bit of floor damage. But since you asked the question, if you drag stuff about or it’s going to get a lot of wear, and you actually care what your utility room looks like, then tiles which you clean regularly are probably a better option.

Make sure a drain is put in the floor of your new laundry room in case of a burst/broken hose.

I think lino in a laundry room is a really good idea. Nice and easy to clean.

I'm most envious of you having a first floor laundry room. My friend has one too and it works really well.

I have my laundry stuff in a ground floor utility room and the floor is tiled. It doesn't look as good, but lino would've been more practical.

Do you actually mean Lino/ linoleum or just sheet vinyl? We had actual linoleum/marmoleum in our old kitchen and I absolutely loved it- so hardwearing, super hygienic etc it's also a pretty green eco/ natural choice. We had sheet vinyl in our bathroom for a cheap and cheerful renovation before we moved and it looked great but can't comment on how well it lasted!

Apologies, I completely forgot to come back to this thread. Thank you all for the sound advice. Our renovation is moving very slowly because of shortages/slow architects etc - gives me time to investigate flooring options a bit more!
