Quartz Diy kitchens

Hi, has anyone got quartz from DIY kitchens? We have a quote for a run of kitchen units plus 2.3m island and small utility for £3400. Trying to decide if it’s reasonable. Also was going to go for 20mm but have read it’s not suitable for a gas hob over an oven. Has anyone done similar? Thanks

Yes I used them although it is supplied by a company in Derbyshire who said they do about 50 per week for DIY. The quality of the fit was amazing.

We had a similar size island...think our thickness is 32mm...wouldn't have less and don't think the induction hob would fit otherwise.

Price sounds very reasonable

We got a local supplier as I preferred the samples from them over diy kitchens. It was slightly more expensive though.

We bought our Lunastone quartz worktop from here after a recommendation from mumsnet. They were £1k cheaper than all the other quote we got and their after sales customer service was fantastic:

Thanks for the replies. I’ll check out that website. Quartz is definitely more expensive than we budgeted for! (Doing extension)

Thanks littleOverwelmed we are thinking of laminate in the utility but the kitchen fitter said the awkward shape of it would mean a join which would likely get water in it. So many decisions!

We had the white marbled one (think it was abstract or unique) and it was great. They do little samples so we took three home with us when we visited the show room. We're messy cooks so I mixed up a paste with a little water and turmeric and a second one with paprika. Both of them wiped clean off all three samples after a full 24 hours. We also bashed them about a bit with some screwdrivers (didn't want to ruin the kitchen knives) and couldn't make a dent. I was worried I'd be too precious about it because of the expense but the quartz is pretty indestructible.
