Attic space beams - safety

We have recently had some renovation done and decided to get the attic space done too to provide a room for the DC to play. It has a proper staircase and velux window etc. The only concern I have is the low beams on either side of the room. My DC can be quite clumsy and I imagine them bumping their heads regularly. I'm not sure what can be done, perhaps cover them with a foam guard of some sort. Any ideas? Picture attached.

If you close off the area under the beams to create storage, will that make the room too small?
What height is the beam?

I don't know if this will help, but when the baby was younger the health visitor said not to bother paying for expensive foam guards in safety sets for the hearth edges but to simply get the foam stuff you put round pipes and stick that on instead.

Pool noodles would also work.

Depends if you want to be sticking stuff on your nice new walls, else what about a room divider and section those sides off.

Not sure of your dc ages... but how about using some net curtain wire (google it) thread some muslin type thing curtains along the lowest part of room to make a sort of den area??

Or get some of those lovely wall art stickers and use the smaller ones to stick all way along the beam bit. You can get some gorgeous ones - jungle, animals, trees etc. Or more grown up ones

Just a couple ideas of what I’d probably do !

Thanks for the ideas!
Yes @Fightingfirewithfire Sad the last thing I want is to be ruining the nice new walls with sticking bits and bobs on but my dc (particularly Dc11 being assessed for ASD) can trip over air so it's best to be cautious.

@BruceAndNosh yes that will make the room far too small. We did play with the idea of making storage cupboards but 1. we don't really need any storage and 2. The dc would be in them constantly playing hide and seek Grin
The beams are around 115cm above.
