Grad student advice for housing

Hi! I am moving to London from the US in August for graduate school, and I would love some advice on good places to live. My school is right by Regents Park in Marylebone, and I have a budget of about £1,000 for my apartment (although I will likely have 1-2 flatmates so just multiply that number by the number of rooms for total cost). I definitely prioritise location over size of flat, meaning I'd rather live in a shoebox in a nice/central area than a big/fancy place in a less ideal location.

In terms of priorities, I'd love an area where I have good transport links and lots to do in the immediate area. I would like to have a 30 minute or less commute to school. I'm just open to ideas! Thank you so much in advance!

From the location you give it seems that you may be talking about the London Business School?

If so, then you're part of the University of London and can apply to stay in the intercollegiate halls if you want to. They are very central indeed, mostly based near Russell Square around UCL so about a 30 minute walk to get to LBS.

Unlike US halls, the rooms are all single occupancy and most have ensuite facilities as well. They have a mixture of catered/non-catered and postgrad only or undergrad & postgrad halls.

There are also some apartments available as well.

They also have a service to help find private accommodation which you can use as well since you are a student at LBS.
