Moving- filling holes in walls from fittings or not?

Advice please
I live on my own and moving. I have a few bookcases that are secured to walls at top, that I am taking ( they were offered to buyers but they didn’t want)
I can’t take them down on my own, so want to get removal company to do that
But that would then leave the holes, raw plugs and no time for me to fill and paint as I’m moving on same day as completion

WWYD? Is it acceptable to leave some holes if I leave the spare paint? Do I need to get a trades person round before I move to take down cupboards and repair...I’d then have piles of stuff stacked up till I move?

This is completely acceptable, you don't have to fill and paint, though it would be a nice gesture if you left any spare paint for the buyer to do their own touching up later.

I'm watching with interest as in the process of moving.

I think it's inevitable that some holes might be left really.

I'm taking down a lot of stuff and filling and painting, but some stuff like the coat hooks won't come down till the day before we move.

I'd rather you didn't fill & paint. I'd far prefer to do it myself.

Totally normal to leave them, I wouldn't worry.

I’ve got the paint, I’ll leave the polyfilla too😉

I filled holes as I went, and managed to paint some of them, but things that were taken down on the day, I did my best to fill, but ran out of time to do them all. Our buyers commented that they were really impressed with how clean we had left the property so I feel we did a good job!

We left the holes and so did our vendors. We decorated the rooms straight away so no need to either.

I've always filled/made good holes and expected the same. It's usually part of the contract IME.

If you live alone and are not likely to be overcome with an urge to climb your bookshelves, just unscrew the wall fitting and make good, the shelves shouldn't randomly fall down as long as they're loaded evenly.

You can save time by mixing the wall paint with powdered polyfilla...

I certainly am not doing around to fill all the little holes left by picture hooks - I have loads of paintings up. I of course will have the place cleaned, but unless it's something that would be considered a damaged wall, I'd leave it.

Hi, genius idea on paint with polyfilla..why am I 60 and not thought of that!

The bookcases do need to be held in place, don’t have flat walls or a floor at exactly 90 degrees in all places. They’re tall. One wobble and they could fall forwards. I can’t reach behind to make good anyway as I’d need to actually move them away from the wall to get behind

Thanks for tip though, definitely use that on holes I can fill
