Leak in new house

We moved in last week, came downstairs this morning to find water dripping through the kitchen ceiling, which is directly below the bathroom. Frustrating to say the least!

Is this going to mean taking up the bathroom floor? We moved here a sit had been recently renovated and I'm heavily pregnant, so hoping to prepare myself for what kind of disruption we are in for before calling the plumber after the school run.

6 months ago, in our old house, we had a similar leak that went from a few drips to the whole ceiling collapsing in about 6 hours so trying to stay positive it could be an easy fix Sad

Better to go through the ceiling if possible as that can be repaired relatively easily. We tried that in mine, joist was blocking leak so had to take up a couple of lino tiles - cost me £220 just to buy the replacement tiles as they are sold by the box and they had no samples. So through the ceiling if you can!

I'd start by taking the side off the bath, if it's that sort of bath, and just checking there's nothing happening there.
