Bloody Spotlights

I've been putting off the large job of changing approximately 10 spotlight bulbs from around the house for 6 months. They are all slowly declining.

I just took the first one out and the bulb and the plastic base have detached. Now I have a seemingly unmovable plastic base that I can't remove from the socket.

I think it's one of those sockets that has two pins that push in, because I can see it's a Phillips bulb and on their website I only see pin options (as opposed to twist ones).

How can I remove the base?

GU10? You still need to twist them to get them in and out. I use a wee suction cup thing to help turn them

I have one of these to remove spotlight bulbs

Thanks Demented. I managed to get it out twisting with some pliers!

It isn’t a GU10. It seems to no longer be made by Phillips - I reckon it has been there for the best part of a decade. Was the GU10 the general update and do you think it will fit?

Can you post a picture of the bulb and pin arrangement? Does it say on it what type of bulb it is?

GU5.3 or MR16?
They have different pins on them

Thanks Demented.
In case anyone comes across this in the future and wonders, the Phillips lightbulbs called 'twist line alu' can be replaced with GU10s.
