Is it wrong to view a house for ideas about your own?

My house is about to exchange. House on same road has made ALL the renovations I plan to. Its up for sale. Is it wrong to view?!

There isn't a video tour. If there were i wouldn't even consider. I promise. I'm not someone who just loves poking around other peoples homes for no reason.

Its only 5 doors down though, so they might recognise me in future???!

Oh please don't do this!!! I had to get our house ready for every viewing whilst pregnant with a dog and a 3 year old, it took hours each time and was a complete nightmare. Plus you'd be getting their hopes up that they may get an offer from you when that blatantly isn't going to happen!

Just be honest about why you want to view.

When I was selling I was 9 months pregnant & got my hopes up each time & spent time cleaning & tidying which was not easy at 9 months pregnant. Would have been very very angry if someone had viewed with no interest in buying.

It’s only ok if they are having an open house, which is pretty much not happening during a pandemic.
