Sanding floors advice - what to do with the piano

Our floors are about to be re-sanded and I don't know what to do with the upright piano.
We we're just going to wheel it into the kitchen during the work. The guy whose doing it says we will damage the newly varnished floor when we bring it back cos of the weight.
Have other people had this issue and what did you do?

Can you get some heavy duty cups for the wheels, with fabric /carpet on the bottom, so it can slide across the new floor?

Wheel it over rugs and place its castors on cup thingies on the wooden floor?

Wheel it over thick rugs or a layer of flattened cardboard boxes. Then castor cups at it's final location.

You are all right castor cups could help.

I was going to leave thew piano in the kitchen while they sanded. What is the chance that the weight of the piano will crack the tiles on kitchen floor?

You should be OK. I've wheeled my extremely heavy iron frame piano over ceramic floor tiles with no issue. It's currently on cheap laminate and not causing any problems, I'm not promising though!
