Updating but not replacing the bathroom - who to approach?

My bathroom has newish (5 years or so) bath, toilet and sink which i want to keep as there's nothing wrong with them. There's an electric shower above the bath (no room for another) which I want to replace with a better one. I want to retile and redecorate. At the same time, my downstairs toilet needs new toilet and sink and walls retiling/painting but no new floor as I love what's there. My ensuite needs a new floor and nothing else.

Will I struggle to get people to do these fiddly jobs? Obviously I mainly need a tiler, but also a plumber for shower and I assume toilet/sink may have to be removed and replaced in the bathroom and are being completely replaced downstairs. Do I contact these trades separately and hope they liaise well together, or see if one of them has one of the other kind they regularly work with?

Any advice would be great.

I managed to get a general handyman to do a similar project - reused bath, new basin & loo (but in same place), new tiles & lino floor

Electric shower is a simple job, replacing one is evena DIY job (for those handier than me)

Your downstairs floor may or may not be possible to keep (you would need to replace the loo/basin with ones with exact same footprint)

I'd start by finding a tiler & see if they can do the lot as its not a tough job... btw my similar job was 1 week or so (they also had to build a small cupboard). I think I paid £2k for the work and around £1k for fittings & tiles in London about 4 years ago

Its not a massive job but as there is work on 3 rooms its still worth someone's while, prob a weeks worth of work

Following, as have similar "fine suite but hate the tiles and whatnot" new house bathroom dilemma!

I’d find someone who generally redoes bathrooms.

I’ve just had 2 bathrooms redone completely- contacted the plumber, who co-ordinated with the tiler and electrician. Plumber and electrician first to disconnect everything, then someone to rip everything out and dispose. Then the tiler to tile and do floors, then the plumber to fit all the new stuff, then electrician to turn everything back on.

So if you only want bits done they can just skip those steps.

Seems to me that most bathroom fitters do tiling, and many tilers fit bathrooms! I managed to luck out with one tiler who could fit bathrooms, kitchens, flooring and do quite a few plumbing jobs too, plus do doors, architraves and general joiner work. He was very very busy.
