We have a kitchen which we love but after four years feel ready for a repaint. It's stayed in good nick but as the kitchen and living room are a big open plan space it would be nice to have a refresh. Currently they are an F & B slate type grey and the worktops are a light marble composite. In the main area there are no wall cabinets but there is tall larder unit so very visible throughout the room. We have quite a large area of natural stone in the room which contains shades of grey, green and goldish specks. When we first had the kitchen done I was tempted by a very dark blue or Downpipe by F & B. What are the trends now or does anyone have a colour that really worked for them ?

We did our kitchen last year. Wall cupboards are white and base ones are dark navy (all are handleless) and the tall fridge/freezer unit at one end is all navy. Marble effect worktop & upstand and a light grey glass splashback instead of tiles. White walls. We already had light grey curtains and furnishings in the other/dining part of the room so the grey glass and grey in the marble worktop pulls it all together.

I know people say these colours are going out of fashion but I don't really care, I love it!

Dark green seems to be the latest trend.

That sounds wonderful and is exactly the look I’m veering towards. Can I be cheeky and request a picture?

Hundreds on pinterest since this is the look of the past 18 months. Im not criticising it at all by the way - mine is similar (blue/black with white, mirror/glass and marble) and its lovely. But it is EVERYWHERE (because its a nice look) which is a bit of a shame since it makes it feel a bit less special.

@TheDogsMother

Blimey, 4 years in it would still feel new to me! 🤣

As it's 'only paint' (and paintable again after that). I would just choose a colour I loved, that went with the colours in the room unless your planning to change those too.

@HasaDigaEebowai. I was going to ask @LifeInAHamsterWheel. too. There's something FAR better about the photos from people on a thread that you can 'talk to' than on Pinterest etc.
