Leaking plug hole

Plug hole seems to be leaking from where white paper towel is.

Is this a easy fix??

Any suggestions how I can solve myself without calling a plumber in.

It feels like the crucial bit is missing from your photos so hard to say. Difficult to get a good angle I suppose! Bodging some sealant in there might stop it leaking for the time being but before you do that, have you tried tightening all the connectors? Plastic plumbing often just screws together.

Washer gone? I don't know. There is someone called @pigletjohn on here who is very helpful with this kind of practical thing.

looks to me like it has been leaking from the washer that seals the underside of the sink to the waste.

you could try tightening the brass screw in the middle of the plughole (yes, it is a screw) with your large flat screwdriver. An 8mm will probably fit. you can buy a set of chrome-vanadium screwdrivers from Wilko or Aldi or Screwfix. An old knife is not a screwdriver

hower there is a crust of limescale so it will not be very satisfactory. It needs cleaning off and the old washer may have hardened.

you can buy a new sink waste for a very modest sum. it comes with a new washer and plug. It is fitted by undoing the brass screw above and the plastic nut below. Macalpine is a very good brand and Opella is quite good. if you can find a small tube of white plumbers silicone grease it will be a better lube than WUL. You do not need sealant. Clean all the mating surfaces on the sink thoroughly with a green nylon scourer. Rubber gloves will help you grip the plastic nut.

If you stand back and take a wider pic I may get a better idea of what you have.

See what I mean OP - isn't @PigletJohn brilliant? Let us know how you get on.
