Kitchen help

Can anyone help give me a rough idea of kitchen costs - my kitchen isn't tiny but it's only 8 units over all - in an L shape, but one side of that is just the sink/ cupboard underneath and a stretch of worktop over the dishwasher and washing machine. I have a small house and don't intend to be here forever but due to property market being so expensive at the moment, I will need to hold on here a while and the kitchen does need updating. Cabinets are not in good condition so I can't just put on new doors etc. I plan to just get a basic kitchen from somewhere like Magnet, so about £1.5-2.5k units...my question is, what would you think I would pay for installation, putting some wall panels over the existing tiles and putting in a new floor, plus a new oven extractor fan.

Could I do it all for about £5k or is that optimistic?

I don’t see why not.
I went to DIY Kitchens and mine cost about £6,500 in total but that was with quartz worktops and all new dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer etc 8 base units, 7 top units, a floor to ceiling inter grated fridge/freezer unit and all the pelmets and cornicing.

It was also one of their bespoke painted kitchens

£6500 that seems a great price what make appliances did you have? I've heard a lot of good things about their kitchens are you pleased with it. I may have to make a visit there to have a look

I went to IO and went with the best reviews and the quietest and really thought about what I would actually use. I.e I needed both a dishwasher and washing machine that had a quick wash cycle. There were machines that had 102 different cycles but I knew I wouldn’t use them.
It is quite a small awkwardly shaped kitchen and is on 3 walls

we went to DIY kitchens too and ours was nine units 5 floor and 4 wall, gloss finish, worktops two Carrera marble laminate, sink top stainless steel, handles, cupboard ends and pelmets and kick boards £3000, then on top £800 for plastering as the walls fell apart, £400 for electrics as we needed new plug sockets, £800 for fitting this was £400 less due to fitter being a family member who is a joiner, £200 for tiles between the units and worktops, and still got the flooring to go we are going for sheet vinyl which will probably be around £200 , so total with all the bits £5400

U shaped kitchen, IKEA gloss white. 3 floor units and 3 wall units with marble effect worktop basic tap and sink (appliances not integrated so just have side panels holding up the worktop over them at one side and a unit at the other.
£2k supplied and fitted by them. Fitting warrantied. Extras by arrangement with fitters directly not warrantied by IKEA

Magnet, Homebase and wicks were literally double the price.

I’ve not had the work done yet due to CV. I hope they can do soon as I’m at the point of painting the units myself as I hate the current colour!
