Interesting Vanity Units! Where do they live?

Please help me, I’m in suuuuch a quandary!

I want a wall hung vanity unit and thought that this would be easy! It’s not! They’re all so dull aren’t they?

Admittedly I can only go up to 750m unit and it needs to be wall hung because of my pathetically pokey bathroom

But really, it’s all fakey wood and ikea tastic white guff as far as the eye can see! I’d quite fancy a green unit or just something a bit different but everything us grey grey white or elm!

Ive tried:
Victoria Plum
Victorian Plumbing
Drench
Soakology
Bath store
QS supplies

Just wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction? I’d like something shallowing with a curve but I have found only one thing like this and can’t choose just that

Duravit have some nice ones. Various suppliers.

We had one made - found a guy on eBay but a local carpenter could do it - then it can be exactly how you envision it :-)

I think most people who want extra ones buy a cabinet of some sort, upcycle it, add a sink and TADAAAAA

I know exactly what you mean @strugglingtobestylish.

Deciding on two bathrooms in a lockdown had been very difficult as you would ordinarily go and visit a bathroom showroom. Finding the right vanity units, sinks and taps has been a nightmare and I couldn’t find an off-the-peg unit that would fit the rooms. I spent ages trawling the internet and emailing companies.

Our builder finally agreed to make us a small vanity not wall-hung for a small shower room and a larger one for the master bathroom. I think he knew anything that I bought would mean he would have to adjust it to fit and would cause him extra work. I decided against wall hung as I need the extra storage and if wall-hung check that the wall can support the unit or it will need strengthening. He is using green mdf. It’s marvellous stuff and waterproof. He won’t use anything else in bathrooms.

In a nutshell use a local carpenter/joiner. Ask him to use green mdf or fenix and give him the measurements.

I did think about using IKEA cabinets with different bespoke doors but my builder didn’t like the idea. If there was a leak it would be an issue and it doesn’t sound like it would work in your space.

One company was aspenn furniture. Again very heavy wood styling but they will paint it and make it to your measurements. I don’t know if this would suit. aspennfurniture.co.uk/

Or if you want something really stylish try lusso stone. They have some really nice vanity units but they won’t give you a delivery date even when you place the order and 750mm is not a regular size so they may not have anything suitable.

Good luck!

Yes! That’s the hard part! I can’t look at anything in the flesh

Don’t want to be messing arsing about worrying about waterproofing etc

I’ll have a good look later at lusso- thanks 🙏

2nd vote for Etsy.

Look at furniture places instead of bathroom ones. I like Tikamoon and La Redoute for bathroom cabinets. Much less boring that the shiny kitchen cupboards look!

Wow, just returning after getting lost in Etsy for a while - how amazing some of those are! I never thought I wanted a concrete sink, but I do now, they are gorgeous. Some lovely vanity units as well and they look so well made. I haven't even moved yet, but I'm enjoying getting ideas together!

I made mine - used IKEA drawers and just bought wood from b&q and made a square box with dowels and glue, and screwed in corner bracket things inside to help hold it together (possibly overkill) and then made matching drawer fronts from the same wood and oiled the lot with Osmo worktop oil. Six years later it could do with being re-oiled but has survived really well and hasn’t gone mouldy.
