Why hasn’t Rightmove updated?

Saddo that I am, I love looking at sold properties on Rightmove both for my area and for places I’m thinking of moving to.

But Rightmove hasn’t added any new sold properties since December! I’m sure they used to update more regularly than this. What’s going on?

I've noticed that sold prices take ages to show up. No idea why, but they do!

It is to do with the land registry I think. It runs 3 months behind. The next update is due shortly for the month of December.

Thanks. I’m sure it used to be more frequent than this, but maybe I’m imagining things!

Yes there's about a three month delay in getting it on there.

Midlifelady · 28/03/2021 15:26

It has always been about three months.

Camandmitch · 28/03/2021 15:29

When I've last checked it was updated on 3 March. Presumably nothing in your area has sold since Octoberish?

tinytemper66 · 28/03/2021 15:34

My son has bought a house (January) and it is still up for sale. Not even a sold subject to contract etc on it.

thetigerthatcamefortea · 28/03/2021 15:43

Marking a property as sold subject to contracts is different to the sold (actually gone through legally prices)
If it is still available on Rightmove and not SSTC then the people selling have asked for it that way so they have a back up plan if it falls through or are hoping a higher offer comes in.
SSTC updates straight away.

Yeah it'll be the land registry delays, 3-6 months.

Silkies · 28/03/2021 15:53

You can look on sold prices at gov.uk - that goes up to end of January but as far as I know there's always been a delay of a couple of months or so. It could be in your area nothing sold in January as well - lots complete just before Christmas.
