Kitchen fitting prices

What proportion of your new kitchen costs would you expect to pay on fitting? Is it 50/50 kitchen units/fitting? Trying to work out if my quote is reasonable.

No way. I got a kitchen from Howdens for about £6000 and fitter charged £1050, including plumbing in dishwasher, sink and washing machine and doing the laminate worktops that also went up the wall. It was a medium sized kitchen with all integrated appliances.

We just paid £3000 for getting our new kitchen fitted. This did not include plumbing or the worktop. The price was determined by the number of cupboards. Our kitchen also included end panels and trimmings, so a lot of woodwork was involved. The cost of the units was about £9k or 10k (excluding worktops and appliances). We had an independent kitchen fitter organised by our builder.

Places like B&Q charge a fortune for fitting.

Far better to find a small local business - ask around for recommendations and/or ask to see a portfolio.

Fitter quoted 4k so my husband did it himself, he’s pretty useless at DIY and it took him a few days but was fine as our kitchen was delivered ready assembled units.

Did he do the worktops too himself? That's impressive if so and not surprising he took a few days!

Thanks everyone, that's really useful.
