Can we put an offer in?

Sorry if this is a silly question but I've never sold/bought property before!

We're going to view a house tomorrow, our current position is we have accepted an offer on our house 3 weeks ago, there's no mortgage on it so we will be cash buyers. This house has had tenants in it who are moving out very soon. We are currently in my rented flat. I really love this house we're going to see but are we in a position to put an offer in? We've had an update from our solicitor saying our buyers mortgage has been approved etc so I would think we could put an offer in?

So excited, this will be our first proper hone together!

I would say you would be yes

If I've understood your post correctly, then Yes I think so. Most people have to do it this way, accept an offer on the property they currently own and then have an offer accepted on the property they want to buy. You'll still be in a chain as you're (presumably) relying on the proceeds of the one you're selling to allow you to buy the new one

Yes, you are.

But check that the tenants really are moving, the exact timescale and that they have somewhere to go.

Otherwise you could find yourself waiting 6 months for them to vacate / being evicted, during which time your buyers would lose patience and pull out...

Don’t take vague assurances in this point: drill down for details and if necessary after your offer is accepted, immediately get your solicitor to ask the vendors solicitor what the status of the tenants is.

Yea you can put an offer in but you need an assurance that the tenants really are going, and personally I wouldn’t spend any money on the purchase until they do.
