Him an I ask how much people have paid per sq m for block paving driveways?
Also would love to see some good examples - I like grey, but design wise I'm not good! So ideas would be well received - thank you 😊

We recently had ours done at a cost of 5000 for 70sqm. We are in the north east.
The blocks used were ones that when we checked online was about £16 per sqm. Obviously also needed the existing driveways removed, subbase layed and the sand as well.

Took them 3 days with a crew of 4

Had other quotes that were the same price so it wasn't cheaper or more expensive, simply chose the company we did as they could do it that week.

Other thing to consider when looking at colours is what will you be doing on the driveway. Sounds daft but we went with a darker colour as we do the car service ourselves so any oil spilages/ rusk marks were less likely to show up.

We had done 5 years ago. I wouldn't have blocks again. Over time there is often slight sinkage. They require regular maintenance, ie weed treating, cleaning and re sanding. Also we have grey blocks and they have differential colour depending on where the cars stand and cleaning doesn't change them

We considered resin and tarmac , which were about the same price as block paving according to the quotes. The one thing about resin or tarmac is if repairs need to be done. Our water pipe goes under the drive and (although I hope this never happens even with block paving) if that ever needed a repair then the drive would be cut up and then a patch repair after. Think along the lines of when a road is repaired, the difference in texture and colour after and join lines. Block paving is easier to take up.

Re sinking , as long as the subbase is deep enough and done properly it shouldn't sink. However you do run the risk on any surface type (except concrete really , that will just crack) of sinkage is the same if the subbase is not correctly done

This isn't my house, but the colours are the same. The block paving on this one is slightly more expensive than the ones we got, at an extra £10 per sqm. The blocks we have are the long rectangle ,standard block paving blocks. But as I said the colours are the same, even down to the border

I honestly prefer the blocks on this picture but I couldn't justify the extra 700, as still got other parts of the house to finish.

Thanks @Helpsmearresult - lovely
Colours! I'll shop around - I like the framing with the lighter colour too
