Fixtures and fittings in a chain

Hi all.
I am currently selling my house and buying a other at the same time. We have estimated a 3 to 4 month turnaround to completion from offer accepted for both houses. So does anybody know how long it should normally take to get the fixtures and fittings TA6 forms? We are 5 weeks down the line but have received nothing for my own house to fill in, or indeed anything for me to check for my onward purchase. I am a bit perplexed, as I thought these were taken care of in the early stages. Help is appreciated.

We were sent the fixtures and fittings form to fill in for our house within a few days of instructing our solicitor. Didn't get the one for the house we were buying for about a month after we sale agreed, but I think that was down to their solicitor being slow.

Lots of conveyancing solicitors are snowed under at the moment - they are reactive rather than proactive. If you applying for a mortgage and they are also working for the mortgage lender (totally normal) they might only send the forms at a specific point. Why not ask them when you can expect to receive them to complete?

It must depend on who you use. We received both of our forms for selling and buying ( used 2 separate solicitors) and both gave us the forms within days of instructing.

If I were you, i would change solicitors unless you have already paid a deposit?

For further info, we agreed a sale and purchase at the beginning of march. Sometimes fraud and ID checks can take a week or so before they assign you a case handler. Our purchase took 2.5 weeks. 5/6 weeks sounds ridiculous to me..

@Evecob you bought and sold a house in 2.5 weeks, in the U.K., this year? Really?

12 weeks is non-Covid standard. Things can take much longer at the moment. That sounds unusual.

2.5 weeks ! I'm into 10 weeks, and counting - for a cash sale, no chain, and no survey or searches.

I have a mortgage offer in and and am waiting for my buyer to get hers shortly. Things are progressing otherwise except for the fixture and fittings thing for both

he was talking about the timeframe between instructing and receiving the paperwork/solicitor contact..

I'm saying I received our paperwork within days, and our case handler took 2.5 weeks to be assigned....

im still very much at the beginning, mortgage offer applied for. Our solicitor called me friday to say he estimates 6/8 weeks until completion.

I got the forms to fill in within a couple days of instructing the solicitor. Then my lawyer emailed me to clarify a couple points after I returned them a couple days later. I won't get the forms from my seller until the lawyer sends me the pack with searches and so on.
I know conveyancers are busy but these are standard forms that could go out with the fees and formal instruction pack from the lawyer they have you sign at the get go, so there are no excuses.
Chase them.
