Hallway Paint - help need something tough!

So after spending what felt like an age carefully painting my hallway in the most delicious deep mulberry it now marks like a b. There's only me in the house, and I am careful, but the slightest brush against it and it goes chalky and dusty. Cleaning it just seems to mark it. The paint has been on four weeks and looks a mess already. It was Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt from the Dulux Decorator Centre. I did three full coats (no primer underneath). I did a much softer purple at the far end of the hall and this hasn't marked at all (but also isn't a high traffic area).

So what are my options? Any recommendations for tougher paint? Or do I need to choose a much lighter colour that won't show up marks?

Any help much appreciated!

I used B&Q anywhere paint in my hallway. 6 years ago!! Still fine!

My friend had this in a bedroom, 2 colours, same brand and one of them marked really badly.

I think it must be something in the colour mix. Heres was a purple colour thatmarked, and alighter purple that didn't

My hallway is B&Q mix your own colour hallway paint, so it is a matt scrubbable one. Very hard wearing, and I do scrub it often. But i have it in a cream colour, not very exciting.

Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt

is this washable though?

My dining room is in a standard matt emulsion. It was one of the first rooms I painted in this house and I quickly realised my mistake. Ordinary plain matt emulsion can't be wiped/washed if it is coloured, it effects the colour.
Mine is duck egg, not dark, but any wiping/cleaning and it effects the colour, and spoils the matt finish somehow.
Since then, I only buy washable emulsions, and all the bedroom/living room ect are fine.

We have eggshell under the dado on our hall and stairs which is tough and scrubbable as anything. Can be used for kitchen splashbacks too. It is a bit sheeny though so depends how you feel about that.

Thanks all so far -

@steppemum - the Dulux website does say "Scuffs and marks can be wiped clean" (I've just checked) but it's not the case.

I am probably between a rock and a hard place - I need a matt paint as the walls are not in the best condition (I can't afford to skim them at the moment) so a flat matt reduces the light shining on the imperfections, but clearly a dark colour is not happy with marks.

Thanks @Easterbunnygettingready. I will check out the B&Q hallway paint. It's not something I have looked at.

all the washable I now have is still proper matt.

sorry minipie but i can't stand eggshell on walls. The shiny look is too hospital/institutional for me.

You need something scrubbable if it’s to be super durable I’ve found. Unfortunately I don’t particularly like Dulux as a paint brand- I find it not nearly as hardwearing as other brands. Leyland hardwearing Matt is great (although only available in pale colours) as are Johnstone’s durable Matt and Valspar v700. I can’t vouch for dark colours but I know the three mentioned are great at staying matt when scrubbed as I’ve got them in various rooms and they’ve all stood up to green scrubber scrubbing at one point or another over the last 6 years with no change of colour or difference in sheen.

Deluxe trade Diamond finish Matt emulsion. Matt and very scrubbable. I have it in kitchen, bathroom and hall-

My builder advised us to get Dulux Trade Diamond Matt for the more busy areas and to get it mixed at the decorator centre, even if it comes (he didn't say why). 3 years on the areas where we used it are still very fresh looking.
