House with back boiler?

We are looking at putting an offer in on a house that has a back boiler and I have a few questions about it

  1. Will this be a problem with the mortgage company?
  2. Will we need to replace it immediately?
  3. Is this an expensive job to replace? Including removal of the boiler itself.

We would replace it with a combi within the first few years or so anyway, but we would hope it would heat the house up sufficiently until then

Thanks

We moved into a house with BB, it was around 15 yrs ago but no problem with mortgage. Do they even ask about how the house is heated? Moved again 4 years ago and I don’t remember it coming up.

We lived with ours for a few years, we did get it checked out and it was fine.

It wasn’t any additional cost to remove but we did then have the cost of replacing the fireplace, it was hideous so we wanted to do it anyway. We had a whole new central heating system put in because the existing radiator with the BB were old and corroded.

We had one. They are bomb proof. We did eventually replace it with a combo, as much to get rid of the ugly fire and huge water tank as anything

It cost around £5k 4 years ago and that included 13 (i think) new radiators too

We had a back boiler which was an absolute work horse in our old place. Did a sterling job, albeit not the cheapest to run. When we let out the property it needed replacing so we did a swap for a combi in a different area of the house, cost us about £2.5k if I remember correctly.
