Kitchen cabinet paint recommendations

I'm looking for paint recommendations for my kitchen cabinets please.

They were here when we moved in and in great condition so I don't want to replace them yet. However, the kitchen is narrow and colour of the wood effect finish is quite overwhelming in the small space, so I want to paint them a nice light colour - possibly cream. Can anyone recommend a good paint for kitchen cupboards please? My sister did hers in F&B eggshell and they still look fab 10 years on - but I'm on a tight budget and was hoping for some "budget friendly" recommendations, that still give a nice finish.

Wilko furniture paint gets good reviews. You can get it in cream. We used some in the en-suite and it looks fine.

jumping in here as I’m curious about waterproof/splashproof paint for kitchen cabinets too! x

I’ve used white Wilko paint on my kitchen cupboards and it’s holding up fine. I previously used Frenchic and it chipped to bits quickly.

Thanks for letting me know about the frenchchic paint. Yesterday my MIL said her friend did her kitchen with frenchchic so I was considering it but won't bother with that one now. I used wilko on a radiator cover last year and it has held up well but the finish is a bit textured. I used a foam roller to apply so it might be that. What did you use to apply the paint your cupboards? Is the finish smooth?

We used eggshell from Brewers, which is very hardwearing and easily wiped clean. Prior to that it was wood and any dirt would get into the grain.
