What is living in Wimbledon Park area like? How does it compare to nearby Southfields and Earlsfield etc?

Can anyone tell me about the area around Wimbledon Park tube and near WP Primary school?

Is this a good area to live? Looking at a house on Wellington Road..,

WP is nice. Very suburban, much like Earlsfield and Southfields. Parking is very tight. Traffic can be a problem around Gap Rd at times. Wellington Road looks like it’s on the wrong side of the tracks, as it were, but I haven’t been in the area in a few years and it might have changed and beautified. I don’t think you can go wrong.

I think it's on the RIGHT side of the tracks but the wrong side of Durnsford Rd, though overlooking the recreation grounds (depending where on Wellington) will make up for that.
I like the area and considered buying there but nearer the station, which turned ot too pricey so I'm buying in Soutfields.
Family area, and Wimbledon Park itself is lovely. Some nice restaurants near the station.

Yes parking is very tight in that area, but then so it is also in Southfields and slightly better in Earlsfield.
I think it's down to personal preference as I have always found that area a bit "no mans land" though absolutely nothing wrong with it and obviously still popular. Having lived in Earlsfield for over 23 years (recently moved further out) for me I would have preferred Earlsfield or Southfields. But it you like the house and it ticks other boxes go for it.

We almost moved there last year. It is a very nice area and has got the WPP school, all amenities near by, train station, close to lots of green and park. Wellington road is not on the grid, but these days the price doesn't vary much based on that. But being on this side, getting into the school waitlist would be easier. It's a great area!

I have a friend who lives there who I visit a lot and loves it. Relatively safe (as safe as London gets), good community, beautiful parks and excellent schools. Not a massive amount going on in the evenings in Wimbledon Park itself but a fair bit in the Broadway and Wimbledon Village and Earlsfield. She says there are a lot of people moving down the district line from Chiswick/ Fulham to get a bit more space. I think Wellington Road is very nice but probably more for families because it’s so close to the school and the playground. Downsides are that the roads are busy and the houses are not massive, nor are the gardens!

Thanks. Do you mean it is literally on the wrong side of the train tracks? Which would you say is the best part of that area to live in? Also is Wimbledon itself the main ‘high street’ area or are there local shops. I was a little concerned about being so close to the train and also the school actually. Likely guaranteed a place but kids are noisy! The area also looks like there’s a few businesses there and a mosque which may have high footflow
