...which combo would you pick?

It is likely we can only get two tall units into our new kitchen. Which of the following combos would you pick?

  1. Fridge freezer and larder.
  2. Full height fridge and full height freezer. Or try to get an eye level oven in there?

I really want all three but not convinced it’s going to be possible and am wondering about fridge freezer and larder with an additional under-counter freezer. Thoughts?

We’ve just finalised plans for new kitchen and have gone for larder over eye level oven. Watch me regret that now!

We have a full height integrated fridge and seperate full height freezer and still find storage is tight compared to our previous american style one. I would struggle with a combined fridge freezer.

I think it depends on your family, eye level ovens are nice but probably more important for the slightly more elderly. Fridge/freezer space is more of a priority for a family.

Regarding larders you can get the narrower pull out versions. Not quite as luxourious but may be an option alongside the other 2 units to save space?

Our pull out larder is the best thing in our kitchen! We currently have a 30cm one, it fits loads in.

We are currently planning the next kitchen and a pull out larder is the only non negotiable!! Although we are putting a slightly wider 40cm one in.

I would have to have a larder unit. Have you outside space where you can put some sort of utility shed and put a large freezer in it ?

We went for full height larder, full height fridge, under counter freezer and 2 under counter ovens. I initially wanted eye level ovens but actually, it's no problem having them where they are and the kitchen is so much more functional as a result.

Full height fridge and full height freezer. Get oven under counter.

how about an american fridge freezer - 90cm or so wide and then a slim pull out larder unit - so not full width but still good storage

We have two full-height units made of a 70/30 fridge/freezer and a double ovens, and an undercounter freezer (which in our case is under the stairs, next to the washing machine). Most of the food is in big larder drawers (IKEA units) and the only things up high are cereal (stored above the double oven) and tea/coffee/biscuits. We have four big 80cm wide drawers that have all the food, including one that does potatoes/onions/etc, and one that has smaller shelves in for spices.

It works really well, and we put a lot of effort into planning it all. An under-counter oven would drive me mad.

Some great ideas here, thank you! I’m increasingly feeling that a larder is not negotiable.

I’ll take a closer look at American fridge-freezers, I’d automatically assumed they’d be too big.

My current inclination is a fridge-freezer, with separate under-counter freezer, and a larder.

Eye level oven and full height fridge. Freezer can go elsewhere.

I've got the same issue. One will be fridge freezer one will be larder. They are either end of the run of units as I want it symmetrical.
