Will boiler fit within a Howdens extra tall wall unit?

Our new boiler will be 700(H) x 395(W) x 278(D), not including flue, and I'm wondering if it will fit within a Howdens extra tall wall unit that is 900(H) x 500(W) x 290(D)? Seems like it should be okay but perhaps I'm missing something? Thanks!

probably, but it will probably need a cutout in the top for the flue, and the bottom for pipes. there are various pipe and valves that stick out of the bottom and are not very attractive. You will probably need a magnetic system filter on the return pipe to the boiler, which will need additional space. You can ask the kitchen fitter to make a concealing, removable panel to hide these, which you can finish to match the walls or splashback.

If you have units at either side of it, a carpenter or fitter can make up a dummy cabinet, with the door hinged on a false batten at one side, and onto another batten at the other side, with no bottom or top. I have that and it makes access very easy.

you will want hinges that click on and off so the door can easily be removed for servicing without getting in the way. Blum hinges are usually like that these days, but ask if you are not sure.

If will be easier for the boiler fitter to put it up first, and the units to be assembled around it later. Measure several times and pencil on the wall where you expect it to go.

if your ceiling height is the typical 2400mm, ask the boiler installer to put it as high as is reasonable, so the pipes underneath will be less visible. if you ceiling is higher than that, you can have the flue elbow coming out of the top and it will be so high that it will not be visually intrusive.

Ours is above a worktop and has a tall boiler cupboard unit built around it that our kitchen modified to make it fit, and then has a false drawer unit attached at the bottom that is attached with magnets. This is to hide the pipes as our boiler had been fitted very low, and also mean that we don't have to move all the washing up out the way to open the boiler cupboard
