Black mold on new fence

I got a siberian silver larch fence installed in autumn. It's not been dry or warm enough to treat the wood yet but this weekend is looking promising.

The problem I have is that some of the slats have developed Black mold on them. What can I do to get rid of it before oiling?

Would you be willing to share a pic?

Personally I'd scrub it off with warm soapy water and leave it to dry. I'd be tempted to wait a couple more months to treat the fences for it to be completely dry... When we had our fences fitted (feather edge built on site, not pre made fences) I was told the wood was treated so no rush to paint / stain it and wait until it was definitely completely dry.

If you have a power washer that will do the trick. Otherwise do as NachoNachoMan (love the name Grin) suggests.

Here you go. This was in December but a bit worse now.

I reckon those bits have been sat against each other a bit damp and developed mould whilst in the timber yard as they are on individual planks. I don't think it should have done that if it had been pressure treated though - can you speak to the person who fitted it for you/place where you purchased the timber from?

I thought it was going to be a patch on connecting planks but that actually makes me think it's poor quality wood.

Thanks @rampantivy 😉 I'm definitely more nacho than macho!

Looks like blue stain to me (look it up)

You can treat the wood anyway.
