I've just had brushed brass in our main bathroom (lussostone gold version of brushed brass anyway) and I think it will become a classic.

From what I can see when trying to buy brass fittings it's at the same point as black fittings were about 4/5 years ago...fashionable in magazines/interiors sites but not many to choose from. Now you can buy black fittings in most bathroom shops and seems to be popular and probably here to stay.

I think people are becoming more adventurous in their homes in general and don't just want chrome. I may be wrong though and have the equivalent of an avocado bathroom suite in 5 years!

Brushed brass was very popular 25-30 years ago, everything goes in and out of fashion then comes back as the next big thing.
Just buy something you love, it’s not important if it’s in all the interior magazines. By the time it’s in B + Q, it’s probably our of fashion again, until next time 😉

I've just bought brushed brass, very difficult to find at the moment. Our house is Edwardian, we have original doors and brushed brass beehive handles, and have chosen a traditional Burlington bathroom suite and floor tiles so it's in keeping with the property more than shiny chrome, so I don't think it will date.

I was sold on buying brushed brass for our new shower room, but as I will be having it in my new kitchen, feared it would be brass overload... Also I did worry that it was becoming too faddy. So I went for polished Nickel instead and I absolutely love it. It's got a lovely warm kind of "glow" to it that I feel is a good midway between brass and chrome

I WILL be having aged brass deck mounted bib taps in my kitchen though Grin
