Broker submitted our application this morning and I feel sick with nerves!

No obvious reason why we'd be turned down but have read so many horror stories about strict/fussy/cautious lenders in these Covid times so know I'm going to spend the next few days and weeks consumed by my fretting!

Anyone else in the same boat who'd care to join me? Grin

Congratulations @CherryFox, that's great news 🥳

lulabelleread · 04/03/2021 20:48

@CherryFox congrats on getting yours through! Got mine this afternoon after a very tense back and fro morning, can't believe how relieved I feel tonight! Fingers crossed for everyone else's to be sorted ASAP!

CherryFox · 04/03/2021 20:58

Great news @lulabelleread! So pleased for you after all the stress you had!

Willing more good news on this thread! It's a horrible thing waiting, just because so much rides on it and it's all so out of your control!

@CherryFox totally agree. I know they're under such demand but I wish they knew the emotional impact it has!

PrincessConsuela12 · 04/03/2021 21:22

Great news @lulabelleread 😊

lulabelleread · 04/03/2021 21:31

@PrincessConsuela12 thanks! Yours next hopefully 🤞🏻🤞🏻

We just got ours a week after putting our application in. I was expecting it to take a month and now slightly worried as our vendors haven't found anything yet and our mortgage offer expires on 24th August which seems awfully close. We are ftb so it is very nerve wracking

PrincessConsuela12 · 05/03/2021 08:23

@lulabelleread I hope so! We were told Wednesday that we should know by today but I am not convinced

PrincessConsuela12 · 05/03/2021 16:14

Doesn't look like we'll hear today. Another week passed 😩 I thought for sure we'd find out this week

hc96 · 05/03/2021 16:43

I had a mortgage offer with LBS on a shared ownership house however pulled out at the end of January due to issues with the new build and finding a much nicer/cheaper house. LBS said that I could transfer the mortgage offer to the new purchase however after waiting weeks they've now turned me down and refused to transfer the mortgage offer. My mortgage broker has put in an application with Halifax as apparently they're quick at processing applications. The house I have an offer on isn't in a chain and the draft contracts have come through already so I'm hoping it doesn't take too long to sort something out!

CherryFox · 05/03/2021 17:55

Oh, @PrincessConsuela12 it's awful that you are still waiting!

Best of luck with Halifax, @hc96!

@CherryFox I'll be so disappointed if we get a no after waiting so long. Hopefully Monday 🤞🏽

PrincessConsuela12 · 08/03/2021 16:54

Still no news. DH rang the MA earlier, he couldn't get old of them but spoke to their colleague who said they had a note to call the lender today... it's always the same story!!

PrincessConsuela12 · 10/03/2021 11:31

We got our offer 🥳🥳 I'm so happy, I honestly can't believe it!!

Youngatheart00 · 10/03/2021 15:54

That’s great news @PrincessConsuela12!!

CherryFox · 10/03/2021 16:45

Just catching up with the thread and glad to hear that some applications are going through quickly, congratulations everyone Smile. The MA sent off our forms yesterday, so fingers crossed we won't have to wait too long to find out.

arthurdaly · 10/03/2021 19:48

Joining this thread as silently cracking myself here!
MA went in last week and valuation was approved today. Mortgage broker then came back saying I needed to send my passport again as there were issues with my surname, (probably as some bits are in my maiden name and some in my married name) and querying what an item on my payslip is and if it will continue for 6 months of more, it's my pension contribution so yes!
We're applying with our current provider, nationwide to port our current mortgage and borrow extra to buy.
I've got a funny feeling they're going to say no even though mortgage broker is confident eeek

hopefully2021 · 11/03/2021 22:25

Hi all, we are due to submit our mortgage application next Weds - was just wondering how long it's taken you all to get an answer back after submitting your applications? So nervous already!!

My broker submitted mine on Monday and it came back approved Tuesday afternoon (this was with Halifax)
hopefully2021 · 12/03/2021 09:06

@hc96 Was that the following week? Thats so quick! I'm feeling so anxious, we are borrowing very close to the maximum that our AIP quotes they can borrow us so I'm hoping we will be okay Hmm

Youngatheart00 · 12/03/2021 10:02

I’ve heard horror stories about AIPs turning to declines but we spoke to a broker yesterday and they said that as long as the income certification stacks up and there’s no undisclosed commitments on your bank statement, along with the property being suitable security of course, you can pretty much take it as an approval

I just find it all so worrying!

hopefully2021 · 12/03/2021 12:46

@Youngatheart00 me too! I'm so nervous already and we haven't even submitted our application yet!! I really hope it doesn't take too long to hear back, I dont think I will be able to handle the suspense...

MyCatsSlave · 12/03/2021 14:12

@hopefully2021 Mine was submitted 5pm Friday and the offer was received on the following Tuesday, this was with the Halifax
