Bad Plumber Advice led to unnecessary house insurance claim - next steps?

Hi all - really appreciate any advice as feeling a bit stuck! We had a waste pipe leak through our ceiling after a bath and called out a plumber to assess the leak. He did not find the source and on his advice we submitted a claim to our House insurance for track and access and he compiled a report to support it saying this was not a plumbers job - we paid £65 for this. On the track and access inspection they found the problem to be a relatively small issue the plumber could easily have spotted on the first visit - thus saving us from submitting a claim to our insurance. What recourse do we have? The plumber was independent but is there anything we can do to prevent costly premiums and high renewal costs?

I would say there is nothing you can do- it's too late.

Trying to extract any recompense from the original plumber will be like trying to put water back into a bottle with your hands.

You may not have lost much in money terms with the insurer.
