I've never had one before but our new house has one and it does rain a lot on Scotland so I can see the advantages of one. The previous owners left a Beko it's only 13 months old has hardly ever been used and 1/2 the programmes don't work.
I mainly want to dry sheets and towels and odd pair of jeans, as I have warm utility room and a Sheilas Maid by budget is £800 max preferably closer to £600. Ideally it must be very energy efficient.

We bought a Blomberg condenser tumble dryer, it cost us £349 & is the best tumble dryer we have ever had.
It doesn't over dry the clothes making them hard to iron. It also automatically stops when the clothes are dry.
It is saving me an absolute fortune in electricity costs.
I love it StarStar

I’ve got a Beko condenser tumble dryer - cheap and does the job perfectly. I am however meticulous about cleaning the filters and emptying the water tank after every use.

Ok I could put a drainage for two pipes as washing machine and tumble drier currently side by side.

We have a John Lewis condenser dryer. It's quite a work horse, dries quickly and pretty efficiently and the bedding cycle works well. We replaced a worn out John Lewis heat pump dryer with it. It had averaged 2 loads a day over 3 years and was pretty badly clogged with lint, despite my attempts to keep the heat exchanger clear - you can wash them out on a condense dryer but not a heat pump.

I've got a vented Bosch tumble dryer. It took a lot of finding as condensers are more popular these days, but it was to replace an 18 year old vented dryer that wasn't very efficient and I wanted another vented to fill the existing hole in the wall. I'm really happy with the Bosch.

www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-jltdc08-condenser-tumble-dryer-8kg-load-b-energy-rating-white/p4809580 this is the one we have. It's also quieter than the heat pump one we had.

If you can find the model number of the beko you have, from the inside of the door, it might be possible to find a manual for it, to see if you're missing anything.

Which? Is your friend. We bought a Best Buy beko heat pump dryer and it's brilliant. It was really reasonable compared to the other best buys. We had a beko and Samsung before them and they were terrible so it really depends on the model.

@changi

It has a massive drum, so fits 2 kids with ease

How old are they?

I was going to ask the same! 😁

Love dual purpose appliances

Heat pump are much cheaper to run but if they clog up with dust and fluff inside, they lose efficiency and become slower and more expensive.

If you google "secret hatch tumbledrier" you will find that the makers do not always make it easy for the homeowner to clean out the fluff from the innards.

I went for a simple vented Bosch, blowing out of a duct through the wall, because they are very simple, next to nothing to go wrong, and last a long time, and low price. It helps if you have a core drill.

Our condenser one just needs plugging in, no plumbing and no tube out of the window or wall type thing. The water collects in a tray that holds a shedload of water so have to empty every 10?loads, not too often anyway. It seems you do get what you pay for to a certain extent, we bought the best one we could at the time and it’s paid us back with interest.
