reinstate a load bearing wall

Hi, thank you in advance for mumsnetters always sharing their knowledge and providing great info. I searched past threads and couldn't find anything.

We had a wall removed from our previous owners between the lounge and dining area. We would like to reinstate it and put back up a wall. Has anyone done this, was it easy to do, what am i looking at for costs?

Thank you!

Leave the RSJ there and stud and plasterboard it. Shouldn't cost much- labour and materials. It doesn't need to be brick, because it's (presumably!) reinforced already.

Definitely just ;eave the RSJ in place but I'd use bock or brick as stud walls are just plain crap at blocking sound.

Or you could put doors so you have a choice to open or close?

I’m thinking of doing the same.
My wall was originally that grey block and I’d like to put that back.
Anyone have a ball-park figure of difference between stud wall and ‘brick’ wall ?
