What flooring would go with this?

These are the colour of my kitchen units, and this is a sample pic of the Quartz surfaces. I'm really stuck on flooring! Dh wanted a white tile but it'll be too clinical, I need to add some life via the floor as it's all very light. Any advice?

I have limestone lookalike ceramic. Adds texture.

I would also look at Porcelanosa. They have amazing floor tiles. There are plenty of ones which add a bit of interest which I think you need with a big slab of uniform stone. They send samples.

Oooh very nice!! We have white tiles but are about to put in wooden flooring.

Patterned floor tiles. Lots available in grey tones.

What about a porcelain tile that looks exactly like Lakeland slate but much easier to keep? Adds a touch of warmth to the grey.

These are expensive but the textures are very good.

I’d go for wood, but possibly a quality wood-look vinyl rather than real wood (as it’s going to be spilled on often). Amtico do a lovely parquet style vinyl.

You can get wood effect ceramic tiles. No wear.

I'd go for a medium neutral oak - it's a classic flooring choice that goes with most decor and shouldn't date. I'd hold samples up against your unit doors and surface to find one that's not too grey, but not too orange either (since everybody/every company has a different idea of "neutral").

Imo wood also has the benefit over stone/slate of adding natural warmth and a different texture to the cool, white/light grey tones of your doors and the stone surface. A medium shade should add depth while still being easier to keep looking clean/minimise visible marks than lighter flooring (but of also not making the room look too dark).

I'd personally go for sealed waterproof laminate (like Quickstep Impressive) since it generally most resembles "real wood" to me or possibly LVT (like Amtico or Karndean) depending on your preference. While ceramic tiles can look lovely and are probably the easiest for quickly mopping/cleaning, they feel much colder and harder underfoot, so don't have the same "warm" feel imo - unless you have underfloor heating!

They don’t with under floor heating. The problem with wood is that the top coat wears with constant use or if it gets wet too often, eg near a well used external door. I would be very careful with having wood in some rooms. We have oak in two rooms but they are lounge areas. I’ve found my highly trafficked kitchen with doors to the garden needs a robust floor. Where we have wood in our holiday house next to French windows it’s not great after 10 years.

They don’t feel cold with underfloor heating that should have read.

What about a wood effect tile? We got ours from Tops Tiles three years ago and love them. We also put electric underfloor heating in and they're really toasty underfoot in the winter.

I think they look classy and will add some colour and texture to your shaker units and white quartz. We also have white quartz and very dark green shaker units.

We have just had Herringbone patterned amtico in our kitchen/diner. We have white sileston worktops and grey shaker cabinets. Really adds some warmth to the room.
