Washer/Dryer-how long should it take?!?

We’ve just moved into our new home abs there is a washer/dryer. I put on a wash earlier with a view to dry and it says takes around 4hrs! Long story short clothes still not dry, thankfully we held onto our condenser tumble dryer so popped clothes in there.

Does anyone use a washer/dryer abs should it take that long? It’s a howdens integrated one.

Normally the drier takes a smaller load than the washer bit so you'd need to take some clothes out. Washer driers are a bit crap.

I have a washer/dryer and separate the programmes which make the cycles faster iyswm

In my experience combined washer dryers dry a lot slower than a separate tumble dryer. 2hrs at least for the drying cycle.

That’s madness. Usually my old place wash would take around just over 2hrs for both. I’m just going to use the washer/dryer for washing machine. Such a shame Confused

I replaced my washer dryer with a washing machine. I don't have a tumble dryer

We got rid of our washer dryer and just use a washing machine and heated airer now. The old dryer could go for 3 hours and everything inside would just be warmer and still damp and would fail mid-cycle almost all the time. The heated airer helps things dry so much faster than the dryer ever did.

I never do the wash and dry function on ours. I do a quick wash of 1.5 hrs, then go back to it and set to auto dry which usually takes around 2 hours depending on what's in there. I always take out things that dry really quickly like Lycra as it seems to confuse the dryer into thinking it's finished when it isn't, and the smaller the drying load the better. I love ours, although I tend to do bigger loads like bedding in our other dryer in the garage, but the washer dryer is great for daily small-medium loads.
