Can anyone give me any advice on what it's like to live in Cranleigh and raise a family? Are there children's playgrounds nearby? Do you ever feel far from the larger towns? Is Guilford the closest town? Are there any nice things to do for children near by?

My BIL &SIL have lived in Cranleigh for 30 years and raised their family there. They love it.
It seems a great place when we’ve visited. Lively shops, restaurants. Although this might be different after Covid. But there does seem to be a lot of community spirit.

We moved to Cranleigh Aug 2020. We live a few streets back from the high street and have three parks within 5-10 min walk. I am a bit of a towny but I really do like the Cranleigh high street. It has nice balance of name brand and independent shops -enough to get what you need. It sits between Horsham and Guildford. I prefer Guildford because I can use the park and ride (free parking, kids ride free which is probably why prefer it !) But there are also some middle sized towns like Godalming that you can easily spend a Saturday in. It doesn't feel like a village (although some are very protective of the title village around here) you have a library, huge medical centre, middle sized Sainsburys, coop and and M&S food, no train but plenty of regular buses. There are also an incredible offering of schools/nurseries so you would not have to drive to school (our previous was 20 mins away) and you can find what suits you. I really recommend a visit if you can. Covid has stopped lots of the fun but the community still managed a socially distanced: Halloween trail, Christmas light trail, rotary club Santa sleigh ride about, kids park run- to come.

Hi sorry I only just saw you reply, thank you for replying. We will be moving very soon and we've only been to see Cranleigh twice! I hope we've made the right decision. I'm struggling to find any local playgrounds besides Snoxhall, could you suggest any? What would you say the people are like? Are there rougher parts? Places to avoid? Are there more affluent areas? Hope you don't mind all the questions, I'm just trying to get a feel for the place!
