Complete in two days and I’m so anxious!

Just that really: thought I’d be excited but am second guessing everything. Is this normal?
Because of the pandemic I only saw the house once so I think maybe that is part of it.
The house needs work but we know that and have the money to do it: why am I stressing???!!!! DH says I’m just ‘mislabelling excitement’

I need to amend the title of this thread: ‘complete today and am resigned to buying a house that I have neurotically (and without any evidence) decided is going to fall down the moment we close the door’

Still awaiting our buyers monies to transfer.... and they were the ones chasing for today. Im losing my mind!

@Fishingforhappiness we’ve not had monies yet either. Sat in traffic on M25 freaking out!!! Also our removal men were stoned so god knows if any of our belongings will make it....

Still waiting. We are doing a DIY van removal job with my dad helping as I'm also 24 weeks pregnant and can't lift heavy stuff. We need to do a 2nd trip after this. I'm bloody fuming. My solicitor told 3m this morning it would be all done by 1pm at the latest... its nearly 2.30. Not sure if I want to scream or cry.

I do feel for you both 😫. I’ve just heard from my solicitor that we’re still aiming for Friday but probably won’t exchange until Thursday 😬 but we’ll know more on Wednesday 🤯.

You sound like me! Due to complete on a house in Haslemere in the next 3-4 weeks. There's been loads of delays further down the chain and it's been a very stressful process so my anxiety has been going into overdrive and I'm convincing myself we've bought a money pit!

I just have to remind myself of the feeling of home I got each time we viewed it. But I know I won't relax until we're in it.

Thanks everyone. We’re in (completed at 4pm and three ahead of us in the chain 😬) still freaking about the amount of work that needs doing and of course there were some surprises like no skirting boards in the living room. But I think once we’ve unpacked and it looks like less of a disaster zone I’ll start to calm down. DH and kids love it so at least someone is happy!

Congrats @ginandtonic80 I have just crawled in bed - after assembling it all! It was an absolute shambles in the end. We got our keys at 4, had to be out by 5. Needed to do 2 van loads and the new house was 30mins from the old house. We arrived at the new house at 3.15 unpacked onto the patio outside then go back and the new buyers were knocking on the door at 4.50. Had to double handle everything! Fantastic old neighbours who dog sat all day bought our pooches back with a takeaway nandos. Food never tasted so good. We will miss them!! Now I'm trying to sleep my baby is doing nightime aerobics inside. Never exchange and complete on the same day!
