How can I repair this vintage oak picture frame?

I have a vintage oak picture frame that is as dried-up & filthy as they come. I bought it at an antique fair eons ago. I want to restore it. The frame was only held together by one pin across each corner which have all corroded & it's fallen apart. I've tried wood glue on the joints but it doesn't stick. Each side dries individually & it just falls apart again. This is despite holding it in a brace. Next I tried superglue. This too dries very quickly but with no bond. Despite the two pieces coming together very snuggly. What can I use to stick it back together? I'm not confident of pinning it back myself because the profile is ultra thin. Any ideas?

Have you tried a staple gun (on the back, obviously!)

As you have tried wood glue and superglue. The other thing to try would be gorilla glue I don’t think there’s anything it won’t stick, When it’s going off it foams out so don’t put too much on and try and wipe any foaming bits off while it’s wet as it’s a bugger to get of when dry.

Oh, and follow the instructions, you put glue on one side and dampen the other ( water ) .

Make sure the parts you are joining are absolutely clean and free of any old residue - the old glue that you've tried using etc.. Then use a slower curing adhesive, it'll give a stronger bond. I'd use this:
www.go-araldite.com/products/epoxy-adhesives/araldite-standard-2-x-15ml-tube

Definitely use clamps/brackets, using strips of brown gummed paper across the join can help while the adhesive is curing too as it kind of shrinks as it dries
(I used to do ceramics restoration, not wood)
